The Perfect Gift.
Looking for a gift for the liberal in your life?
This made me laugh out loud when I saw it at Kitchen & Co. last night (in my mad search for some good vanilla to ease my chocolate chip cookie craving) and then I saw that it has been pulled from Walgreen's because people think it's racist.
Sigh.
Speaking of weird things that grow faux hair when you get them wet, did anyone else have Fuzzy Wuzzy soap when they were a kid? You know, it was shaped like a bear or something and you got it wet and it grew "fur"? And when you washed and washed, you were rewarded with a toy prize inside? God, we were easily entertained...

Other Top Photos and Moments of the Day:
What an awesome day:
And how cute are they?

Sleep tight, kids.*toned down for the kids
It's Moving Day!!

In more ways than one. I will try to update with on-the-street reports from my daughter who left at 2 a.m. to march in the Inauguration Parade (in case I haven't mentioned it before - *wink*).
Meanwhile, a big Obama fist bump from me to you.
UPDATE: I am awaiting photos from my girl. They were in a tent in front of the White House watching the ceremony on video. I think bands and things from Illinois are marching first, then Delaware, beginning with UD, followed by AI, because I know you are all want to watch my kid.

I Missed It.

Thank you, Raina, for reminding me that I missed this historic event because I had to pick up my husband from the Philadelphia airport (he left his plane in Fla. and flew scheduled air back).

The Most Awesome News Ever.

I am so excited I am going to bust!!
I just got home from a meeting at my daughter's high school about their upcoming trip to London to march in (actually, to not just march in but to lead) the New Year's Day parade for the Queen, when it was announced that they are (drumroll, please):
MARCHING IN THE INAUGURATION PARADE!!
How unbelievably incredible is that? I am so proud I can't stand it.
P.S. Stay tuned for Beach Week, beginning later today. I'll be featuring a different shop from Rehoboth Beach every day.

*UPDATE* - The First Votes Are In: Dixville Notch Votes Obama in Landslide Victory Over McCain
DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. -- Democrat Barack Obama defeated John McCain 15-6. Independent Ralph Nader was also on the ballot, but received no votes.
The first voter, following tradition established in 1948, was picked ahead of the midnight voting and the rest of the town’s 19 registered voters followed suit in Tuesday’s first minutes.
Town Clerk Rick Erwin says the northern New Hampshire town is proud of its tradition, but says the most important thing is that the turnout represents 100 percent vote.
President Bush won the vote in Dixville Notch in 2004 on the way to his re-election.
*BIGGER & BETTER UPDATE*: CNN Projects Obama to win OHIO & PENNSYLVANIA.Also, Al Franken is leading the Senate race in Minnesota.
