The Perfect Gift.

Hail to the Chia-ief.

Looking for a gift for the liberal in your life?

This made me laugh out loud when I saw it at Kitchen & Co. last night (in my mad search for some good vanilla to ease my chocolate chip cookie craving) and then I saw that it has been pulled from Walgreen's because people think it's racist.

Sigh.

Of course I found a picture of it. The internets, they is magical.

Speaking of weird things that grow faux hair when you get them wet, did anyone else have Fuzzy Wuzzy soap when they were a kid? You know, it was shaped like a bear or something and you got it wet and it grew "fur"? And when you washed and washed, you were rewarded with a toy prize inside? God, we were easily entertained...

That Chia looks nothing like our President.

If it did, I'd buy a dozen.

Too cool.

It looks like Tim Somebody from SNL who played The Ladies Man character. Haw.

Fuzzy soap? That's just uninviting.

Yes. It does look like that Tim Somebody, not Obama. Good idea poorly executed.

Fuzzy Soap? Bad idea, well executed.

The cartoon character Chias were so good, I'm surprised this one came out so far off.

Fuzzy soap I don't get, but a prize inside would be good!

I had a fuzzy bunny soap with a plastic carrot inside it; thought it was the most magical thing; we WERE easily entertained.

I had the fuzzy soap and I had "Soapies" - do you remember?

"Soapies soap you clean in oceans full of fun.
Scrubbledy bubbley doobley doubley clean before you're done.
Soapies soap you clean and for every girl and boy,
It's a toy when it's empty, when it's empty it's a toy.
SOAPIES"

My husband and I saw a commercial for the Obama chia-pet. We cracked up but we also couldn't decide if it was a real item for sale or a joke commercial. Either or it's still hilarious!
I'm so glad you posted it!

chia obama was definitely real. i heard the boss of the chia company talking all about it on npr (this was also how i learned that he is also the genius that brought the clapper to the market). he also seemed truly puzzled by the 'racism' claims, but recognized that not pulling them might kill the chia name forever...
