Speaking of Gray...

I am in love with this room*, the office of Alexandra Wentworth and George Stephanopoulos in Georgetown. Their house in the new Elle Decor is refreshing because it is not a cliche plus there are lots of shades of gray.

Kudos to The Ice Queen, La Russell for the current issue**. I have passed on the last two issues of Elle Decor due to the uninspired redundancy within. Now this is what I'm talking about.

*Of course, I picked up the sample of this color and the chip bears no resemblance to these walls.
**Only one zebra rug in the entire issue!

I guess I'm the only one who likes this. I love the chair. Except they got it at an antiques shop. A chair like that should have been in the family...

Oh, and I will totally stop by next time I'm in Charlottesville!

Great room...tattered chair plus bookshelves= making me happy. I've had such a busy week, I have not had a chance to check out my new issue of Elle, can't wait to delve in.

The "Margaret Russell scares the shit out of me" shtick doesn't ring true. You're trying to make her into a Joan Crawford type, and that just sounds forced and phony.

She sometimes looked tense and kind of grim on that Bravo show, but I've never heard stories of her being cruel or unreasonable or out of control. I think she's sometimes overworked and that's about it. She has a history of reaching out to decor bloggers and impressing all of them as genuine and warm.

Unlike, say, Martha Stewart, who has a well-documented history of cruelty and ugly behavior.

Margaret Russell, quit googling yourself. I told you it would cause you nothing but pain.

Ha! I love me some Margaret Russell -- and she did actually comment on our blog once! -- but, come on Anon, don't you think she does play up the ice queen bit?

Personally, I think it's sexy.

I love this room! But I know what you mean about the chip not looking anything like what the room in the picture looks like... ugh. But it's so hard to tell from the chip.

Oh, and you know what has totally replaced the zebra rug thing - but is so overdone already?? Moroccan rugs. I'm tired of seeing them. They are everywhere. Oh, and the "authentic" ones are nasty.

I love gray. love love love it! it is second in my heart only to gold. the gray in that room is lovely, but it does have quite a bit of green. what's the color?

like rachel said, you can NEVER tell what a color will look like from the chip, especially gray
