12 Things That Make Me Happy.

You know that feature in Elle Decor, "12 Things I Can't Live Without?" Well, I was flipping through a back issue the other day and Peter Som said one of the things that HE COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT was his Tiffany keychain. And I was thinking a keychain? You CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT your Tiffany keychain? You would need to be stuck on a desert island with your Tiffany keychain?

So I started thinking, what are some things I can't live without and, basically, they all are breathing or food or water, so I was thinking what are some ITEMS that I would really rather not be without, which I feel is a more fair question. So, aside from my family (which is/are not an "item" anyway), computer and photos, here are mine:

1) Levi's.

2) Williams-Sonoma All-Clad Pots and Pans.

3) Dogfish Head 60-minute IPA.

4) Freshly ironed sheets.

5) My engagement ring.

Yes, of course this is to scale. :-)

6) Seda France candles.

7) My doggies.

Stella* aka Stellabean the Dancing Machine. (*not an item; don't care)

8) Art supplies.

9) A roaring fire (I prefer good gas logs; I like to be able to turn it on for short bursts any time of day and we have one that looks real but is more environmentally friendly than wood or at least I like to think so).

10) iPod.

11) My book collection.

I had to replace Breakfast at Tiffany's because I forgot I already used it.

12) Fresh flowers (white tulips are my fave).

So, off the top of your head, what are 5 things that make you happy?

Thanks for putting the "necessities" back in perspective. Ridiculous to think that lack of a Tiffany keychain might cause a heart attack.

So, "things" I like:
1. You got to say your dog, so I'm gonna say my cat :)
(btw, that is one adorable pup!)
2. My camera(s)
3. Art
4. Books (just the ones I'm reading right now and a few vintage editions)
5. Plants

OMG...Stella Bean the Dancing Machine is the cutest fucking dog!

And the pictures of your ipod and beer make me happy.

Although I prefer the 90 min IPA. Just because it's longer.

Great post. I love the pic of your doggie. So cute. I would also have to take my pups as well.

I love what you labeled this post as.

Too funny. Fingers crossed for next week.

1. Boyfriend
1a. Jack and Alex (the schnauzers)
2. Coffee with half-and-half
3. My AG jeans
4. iPhone
5. Johnnie Walker Black

And could Stella be any more adorable? I think not.

I loved reading your comments.

Stella especially loves the parts about her. She is a spoiled princess. Thank god I didn't have more children.

Greta, two 90-minute IPAs and I am dancing on the pool table. I'm such a cheap drunk.

High heels - Hope we don't need those crossed fingers. What the hell am I doing commenting when I have phone calls to make?

David - Black? My husband's a J.W. Red man, well, when he's not drinking McCallan (my best friend is a Black Man :-). (Today is a McCallan Day - tends to coincide with stock market performance :-)

1. My Elsa Peretti for Tiffany heart necklace.
2. My "Please Return to Tiffany" tag bracelet.
3. My daughter's Tiffany piggy bank.
4. My Tiffany Quartz Resonator Diamond Cocktail watch.
5. My Tiffany logo silk and cashmere wrap.

(I only own two of the above and think Tiffany is the jewelry equivalent of Coach, i.e. for rich mall rats.)

I do like the Black, but perhaps more importantly, it's what they sell at our Costco. They always have Chivas too, but my parents drank that and I'm rigorous about not turning into my dad.

David, always a good thing to watch out for. And yay for coffee with half and half.

My five:

1. The husband
2. Our doggie
3. Coffee with half and half
4. NYT on Sunday
5. Our home

Have been trying to compile my list for another blog, and it's been taking me all week :) Your list is great.

Raina, you are so funny, girl.

I do have a Tiffany wedding band and it's actually more important to me than my engagement ring; I just like my eng. ring cuz it's purdy and it was unexpected (our second marriage - we weren't going to be engaged).

Decorina - Half and half in my oatmeal...

{glam} - I'll be looking for it.

I am exempting family/friends/boyfriend/Fato as they all have pulses, which makes more room for fun THINGS:

1. My fucking useless stupid impossibly small bargain Louboutins--they sit unworn in my closet but give me a sartorial orgasm every time I open the closet door.

2. gray-busters hair dye. It eradicated my pretty highlights, but saves me from the horror of my silver roots. As far as petty body issues go, I would not wish the combo of dark hair/premature gray on my worst enemy.

3. ipod

4. coffee

5. HDTV/DVR shrine/home entertainment station. I don't remember life before it.

I'm late to the party, but I'm playing anyway:
1. Apple brandy sours
2. Fair Isle sweaters
3. LL Bean Maine Hunting boots
4. Books
5. Rolleiflex cameras

That's okay if you're late. I still read everything.
