Beauty and the Beach.

My favorite shop at the beach is the Shore Haus, owned by John and Chris. John worked in visual merchandising for Sak's in NYC before opening his own shop in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

They have a well-edited selection of furniture from places like Oly Studio and Vintage Vagabond and beautiful John Derian decoupage and Fornasetti ceramics and textiles (both exclusive to them in Delaware). They have lots of gorgeous candles and accessories, not to mention the best selection of outdoor furniture and garden ornaments, fountains and accessories. There's no one at the beach like them - or anywhere else in the state for that matter.

If you're ever in the area, stop by and see them. I think I'll do that this weekend (off-season is the best!).

Oh, you will love it there. Go to the Blue Moon and you will meet lots of hot guys (oh, crap, don't tell your partner I said that)... Actually, go anywhere and you will meet lots of hot guys. :-)

Oh, man. That makes me nostalgic for my old store. I carried all of those companies except for Fornasetti. I would open another one in a heartbeat if I didn't have to rely on customers for income or deal with petty staff dramas.

Raina, where was your store? I was wondering where you lived before you were whisked away to NZ.

Indianapolis. I had a home store and a women's clothing store. Pictures of the home store are here:

Whoops, the link got cut off. It's under "I'm it!" in last month's archives.

Beautiful store. I've always wanted to have a shop.

Your comment about bad behaviors? Interrupting is my worst. I'm working on it, too. :-)

No wonder I've hit on your blog, I want a shop too for my furniture and (after learning) uphostery. Sort of the stylish side of recycling.

And hot guys? We'll love that!

I love Tulip, too... One of my faves. I lean toward more of a tempest fugit/ bella luna type shop. My old shop used to be very similar. It was in Milford, though.

I LOVE shore haus. Tulip is great, too. I was very fond of Abizak's, but they're gone now :( Rehoboth is wonderful. I like Lewes alot, too.

I love Tulip and Bella Luna (you know the same people own Bella Luna and Tempest Fugit) and the Moon (one of our friends, Lion, is the chef there and his he and his wife Meghan own it - they are ADORABLE) and Blair Elizabeth is newish and very cool.

I love that you can walk down any street and rarely see a national name. I'm going to do a post on the beach but my pictures don't do it justice (I need a new camera, I think).
